Quick ramble on writing and movies

I’d been waiting for the movie Inkheart to be available from the library for a cycling movie and finally put a reserve on it. It came in, and I’m picking it up today…but it just occurred to me. Given how many creepy “life imitating art” coincidences have followed the endlessly long gestation of The Longer the Fall, and given the fact that I actually finishing The Longer the Fall right now, and given the fact that I’ve wondered for years what would happen when I did finish it because it seemed so magically bound with my life, AND given what the story of Inkheart is about

…is it perfectly in synch or a really bad idea for me to be getting Inkheart at this precise point in time?

I’m getting it anyway. I need cycling videos! The last one, that I just returned, was Steven Spielberg’s 2005 remake of The War of the Worlds, which was very well done, and very scary, and Tom Cruise along with the rest of the cast does a tour-de-force acting job in it, but…EWWWWWW. Enough with the disaster movies. The Happening remains the only one of M. Night Shyamalan’s movies I still haven’t seen, and I’m a huge Shyamalan fan. The library has it, too–but I just can’t face it. There are movies that get you pumping on the bike, and then there are movies that just make you want to get off the bike and slit your wrists. 🙁 Anyone else see The Happening? What did you think?
