As a public service, I’m posting a open copy of the letter I enclosed when I returned a product to the manufacturer (not expecting a refund or anything else, including an acknowledgment or reply–this is purely for the satisfaction). The letter explains the situation.

Greetings:
I’m returning my Tekkeon myPowerTM ALL Plus (Model: MP3450, S/N: 3457050553) to you. I realize that it is no longer under warranty. But it doesn’t work, it’s useless to me or anyone else, and I have to pay a fee to dispose of a lithion-ion battery. It’s a more fruitful use of my money to send it back to you.
I bought the myPowerTM ALL Plus On October 6, 2007 through TigerDirect.com (copies of paperwork enclosed). It was shipped promptly. When it arrived, I read the instructions and set it to charge. At first, it didn’t seem to charge properly—the directions are rather vague—but I got it charged up and then used it to power a notebook computer whose battery had failed. At that time, the myPowerTM ALL Plus appeared to be working fine. I registered its warranty online on October 23, 2007.
I bought the myPowerTM ALL Plus for emergencies and occasional use. It was stored in a cool, dry, clean room I use as office space, along with most of my technical equipment. The next time I needed the myPowerTM ALL Plus was October 23, 2008, a year after I bought it. It would not hold a charge at that time. It would really have come in handy during the three-day power outage we had in December, 2008. That’s just the kind of thing I wanted the myPowerTM ALL Plus for, but it was useless.
On May 6, 2009, I once again tried to charge the myPowerTM ALL Plus and see if I could get it to function. After all attempts failed, I sent an e-mail to Tekkeon Support. I never received a reply of any kind. A copy of the e-mail is enclosed.
I’m self-employed and don’t need any more clutter around my workspace, so here is your device back. Perhaps you can perform some forensic analysis on it that will help prevent any future customers from being as disappointed as I am. I certainly could never recommend the myPowerTM ALL Plus or any other Tekkeon products to anyone I know—in fact, I feel obliged to sternly warn people away from your company and all its products in the future.
Sincerely,
Inanna Arthen
