Fame, but no fortune…

Another review, this one in print. Tom Elliott reviewed Mortal Touch for the November/December issue of Mensa Bulletin, which is the national magazine for Mensans–I have no idea what its circulation is, but it’s a four-color glossy 42-page magazine, published 10 times per year. Here are Tom’s comments outside of the plot synopsis:

Now here’s a book I can sink my teeth into! Not only does it deal with one of my favorite subjects, but it also takes place in my favorite state of Massaachusetts, and that’s a doubleheader that can’t be beat…The author, the Bay State’s answer to Anne Rice, is dedicated to “reclaiming the dignity of vampire-themed literature” by writing books for the sophisticated adult reader, with complex characters, difficult life problems and intriguing plots — just like the ones from the old days. This is the first in the planned series, so jump on board.

Thanks, Tom! I’ll be meeting this gentleman soon, as he moderates a local paranormal investigation group. I promised I’ll come to a meeting after World Fantasy Convention.

The journalist whose e-mail interview questions I answered at length published her article, a Halloween feature, in the McGill Tribune, which is (apparently) the student newspaper at McGill University in Montreal. Here it is: Thirsting for a Bloody Mary. I’m not quite sure why she was so very interested in “vampire bars” that might, or might not, serve real blood to patrons, but hey, mine is not to reason why, mine is to get my name, company name, website URLs and/or book title into the media by any means possible. *heh* And I did have a lot of information to share with her, although no, I do not know of any open public venues that serve real blood to “vampires” (gods, don’t I wish).
