USA Today ran a contest in which towns and cities named “Springfield” produced a five-minute video in an effort to be the first city in the world to premiere the forthcoming “The Simpsons” movie.
Springfield, Vermont won the contest–after not even being invited to enter! They were inadvertently left off the invitation list and had to request Fox to be included in the promotion. Their video won by popular vote!
Why do I care?
I was born in Springfield, Vermont. 🙂
So when they say, “Nobody special ever came from here…” um, well, I guess they’re right. *wry grin*
