After a fervent crusade by the homophobes to put a anti-gay-marriage amendment on the 2008 ballot, and outrage when a parliamentary procedure was used to prevent a Legislative vote on the issue before the close of the congressional session last year, the Massachusetts Legislature has voted not to put the amendment on the ballot.
