This morning I awoke before my alarm, as I usually do, and Giles got up on the bed and seemed rather lively. Some mornings the cats are all fidgety for their breakfast and some mornings not so much. I was petting Giles and trying not to wake up the rest of the way before the alarm went off, when I noticed that Giles had something large and limp in his mouth. He dropped said large limp thing right next to me on the bed and then jumped off the bed himself, leaving me in uncontested possession of…a dead chipmunk. Still warm, too, poor little thing.<\/p>\n
I knew it was only a matter of time before I woke up with a dead chipmunk. *sigh* At least it was in one piece, unlike the unfortunate mouse that I had to collect and dispose of Sunday night.<\/p>\n
I just left a third voice mail message (in two days) for my sales representative at Lightning Source. I have been waiting for months<\/em> to get into the Espresso Book Machine<\/a> program. Everyone else is all a-buzz because LSI demo’d the machine at Book Expo America this past weekend, but in IPNE<\/a>, we’ve been talking about it for a year. Chris Morrow of The Northshire Bookstore<\/a>, which has one of the “beta” models of the Espresso Book Machine, was the keynote speaker at IPNE’s Publishing University last November.
