One small step for persistence…!

I e-mailed the Boston Globe Book Editor for a THIRD time, and this time, he answered me, and said to send the book. Three tries it took just to get that far! The editor said that they review 20 titles a week out of 500 (per week!) that arrive. But at least now I have an address and I can TRY.

It’s a long shot, but the Globe at least still does their own reviews and they do, by comparison with most newspapers now, a lot of them. I’m a local author and local entrepreneur, heavy New England connections, this is a New England focused series of fiction, and it’s already got good reviews. (Good reviews are cumulative. The more it looks like people found your book worthwhile, the better your chances are to get more reviews. It’s kind of a lemming effect. That’s why I’ll be including a page of review excerpts for Mortal Touch with the ARC’s of the next one when they go out for pre-pubs.)

So off goes Mortal Touch to the Boston Globe! Hey, if I get so much as one of those little one-sentence “new and noted” mentions stuck up at the top of a page, it will be a major, major coup. If I don’t…well, hey. Now I’ve got the address to send the next one! 🙂 (Finally!!)
