Cerridwen is recuperating nicely, thanks to all who expressed their well-wishes! She has no signs of infection or complications, hates her medication, wants to eat dry food despite the fact that her mouth must still be sore, and managed to snitch some of the crabmeat I had draining in a strainer for my salad this morning. Tomorrow is the last day she has to take the meds.

Meanwhile, the Trauma Twins, aka Magda and Giles, both went to the vet yesterday for follow-up boosters to their feline leukemia vaccinations. The way they carried on, you’d have thought they were being dragged to the gallows. Magda was in a carrier that has a top that opens like a suitcase, or tool chest, so the vet could give her the shot without taking her out of the carrier. Magda was all curled into a tight little ball, every muscle rigid. Giles, who is my little voiceless guy–no meow, he opens his mouth but no sound comes out–is the kitty who terrorized the entire vet clinic last summer when I left him there for a heart sonogram. I had to reschedule the appointment and go over to the clinic and hold him down for them! He behaves himself when I’m there, *ahem*. But he had to come out of his carrier, once I unhooked each one of his four paws from the inside edge of the door. Then he growled the entire time he was on the table. He’s so pathetic, however, that the growls were barely audible–“rrrrrrrrrr. rrrrrrrrrrr.” He sounded like a small electronic device that has burned its motor out and is trying to run. Anyway, they both got their shots and now I can put both the carriers away–with luck, for another year!
