Robert J. Romanson

ROBERT J. ROMANSON
May 13, 1959 ~ December 5, 2020 (Age 61)

GARDNER - Robert J. Romanson, 61, of 116 Church Street, died Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Athol Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Gardner on May 13, 1959, son of the late John R. and Joan (Porko) Romanson and was a 1977 graduate of Gardner High School.

Bob worked in the construction field as a construction worker for most of his life. An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved to hunt and fish. He was also an avid music lover, especially rock and roll. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He leaves a daughter, Sarah Burks and her fiancé Paul Haynes of Fitzwilliam, NH; two grandchildren, Mary and Brayden; his brothers and sisters, Richard J. Romanson and his long time companion Lisa of Royalston, Roxanne J. Schindler of Winchendon, Robynn J. Bellofatto and her husband Peter of Hubbardston, Rana J. Matthews and her husband Douglas of Leominster and Robert Cormier and his wife Bonnie of Swanton, VT and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Rhonda Romanson, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 1 P.M. in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner. There are no calling hours.

William J. Hanrahan

WILLIAM J. HANRAHAN
September 5, 1938 ~ December 14, 2020 (Age 82)

Danielson - William J. Hanrahan, 82 of Danielson passed away peacefully on Monday December 14, 2020 at Westview Healthcare in Dayville.

Bill was born at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, New York September 5, 1938, son of the late Edward and Mary (Botham) Hanrahan. He grew up in Good Year until the flood of 1955. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Killingly High School and was president of his class as well as co-captain of the football team. He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Reynolds, on September 12, 1959. They lived in Enfield where Bill worked at Pratt & Whitney. To be closer to family, they eventually moved back to Dayville where Bill held jobs at the Rogers Corporation and the Post Office.

Bill and Janet loved to travel especially to Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. His favorite trip was one they took to Ireland. Bill was highly active having coached the Patriots in the Killingly Midget football league as well as running many races including the Newport Marathon. He loved to support his favorite sports teams which included the Killingly High School football, Notre Dame, and the New York Giants. He was a proud member of the Elks and the Killingly Athletics Hall of Fame.

Bill is survived by his children Michael Hanrahan of Pomfret, Ed and Kelley Berthiaume of Brooklyn, Nancy Meade and Jay Barrows of Danielson, and Karen Martineau and husband Joe of Putnam. Also, his grandchildren Ryan, Devon, Amy, Michael, Brenna, Joe, Sarah, Katie and 8 great grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind his brother Thomas Hanrahan of Winchendon, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife on October 15, 2012, parents, and a sister Irene Marren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday December 18 at 11am at St. James Church Danielson. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Danielson. There will be no calling hours due to Covid restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory can be made to Westview's Residents Recreation Activity Fund PO Box 428 Dayville, CT 06241.

David Steven Holden

DAVID STEVEN HOLDEN
February 19, 1992 ~ December 5, 2020 (Age 28)

Fitchburg - David Steven Holden, 28 of Fitchburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday the 5th of December 2020. David attended Quabbin Regional High School and Fitchburg High School.

David was born in Leominster, Ma on February 19, 1992, he is the beloved son of Mark and Jody(Miner) Holden, He is survived by his sisters Margaret E. Sweeney and her fiancé David M. Orre from Fitchburg and Kara L. Holden and her significant other Alexis Rivera Soto from Fitchburg. He is also survived by his loving partner Kerri A. Harrington and her daughter's Layla and Ava Monroe of Fitchburg.

Paternal grandparents are Alfred R. Holden of Lunenburg and Charlene F. (Michaud) Holden of Fitchburg. Maternal grandparents are Bette and Richard Marceau of Hampton, N.H. David is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles: Harold P. Wirta, Shelly (Holden) and her husband David Salinas, Wendy (Holden) and her husband Dean Cucchiara of Winchendon, MA.

David is the loving and very caring uncle of many nieces and nephews Andrew, Tyrell, Kaylin, Hannah, Tyteana and Nicholas and paternal cousin to Megan, Sarah, David, and Daniella.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather David L. Miner, his paternal Step-grandmother Judith H. (Jarvela) Holden and Paternal Uncle Steven Holden.

David served in various capacities since high school, his most recent being in the deli at Crosby's Marketplace. David's passions were family gatherings, love for animals, especially dogs, fishing, music, dek hockey and watching his Bruins team.

David cared for everyone and he was especially gifted at making everyone around him feel loved. David always made time for those in need. He had a kind word and a big hug for everyone, as well as a hearty laugh. His compassion in difficult circumstances was a source of comfort for many in his lifetime as he was the most sincere, kindest, devoted and loving Uncle, brother, son, grandson cousin and friend who will be greatly missed.

A private service for David will be held at the funeral home. There are no calling hours. A burial service will be held in the Spring of 2021 and will be announced at that time. Linda Doris (Cross) Nasman

LINDA DORIS (CROSS) NASMAN
October 1, 1938 ~ December 7, 2020 (Age 82)

Linda Doris (Cross) Nasman, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, died Monday morning, December 7, 2020 at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born October 1, 1938 in Winchendon, MA, the daughter of Kent and Doris (Hemmings) Cross. On June 14, 1956, she married Ronald "Buzz" Tenney in Winchendon. They were blessed with two daughters, Debby and Marie, and a son, Christopher. Linda and Buzz shared eight years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 1964.

Linda was united in marriage to Rev. Alan Nasman on September 24, 1972 in Winchendon, MA. They were blessed with a son, Jason. Linda was a devoted and loving wife and mother who took wonderful care of her family and home. She supported her husband as he served as pastor at several churches including First Baptist Church in Stockhom, ME and Bethel Baptist Church in Ellison Bay, WI. They shared over 45 years of marriage. Alan preceded her in death on October 21, 2017.

Shortly after Alan's passing, Linda moved back to Door County, WI, where her son, Jason, and his family were living. She was a resident at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay since the beginning of 2019.

Linda enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and acquired quite a collection. She also loved to read Amish Christian novels. Above all, Linda loved her family. She always put everyone else’s needs before her own.

Linda will be missed by her three children, Marie (Donald) Sjostedt of Cordova, AK, Christopher (Lynne) Tenney of Easton, ME, and Jason (Robin) Nasman of Sturgeon Bay, WI; son-in-law, Dennis Bossie of Kasilof, AK; six grandchildren, Derek (Renee) Bossie, Sean Sjostedt, Brandon and Luca Tenney, and Ian and Aneliese Nasman; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabella, Emmitt, and Willow; sister and brother, Susan (Bob) Munroe of Rehoboth, MA and Louis Cross of Northfork, CA; mother-in-law, Hazel Nasman of Belmont, MA; brother-in-law, Glenn (Ruth) Nasman of Westwood, MA; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Deborah Bossie; sister, Sally Baker; and other relatives.

Linda will be laid to rest beside her husband, Alan, with a private family committal.

Richard W. LaDeau

RICHARD W. LADEAU
March 21, 1924 ~ December 13, 2020 (Age 96)

GARDNER - Richard Wendall LaDeau, 96, of 570 West Street, died peacefully Sunday morning, December 13, 2020 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born in Winchendon on March 21, 1924, to the late Gladys Oja and joined the United States Navy during World War Two, where he served on the USS Yorktown CV-10 in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his return, he met and married Janice Girard and started a family in Winchendon.

Richard made a living in the carpentry union until his retirement at the age of 62. In 1969, he and Janice moved to Gardner, where Janice still resides. Richard was an active member in Bethany Baptist Church and participated in the choir and taught Sunday School. He was a former member of Pine Street Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and was a Youth Group adviser. Richard especially enjoyed spending time with his family down at the lake lot in Ashburnham, which eventually grew to include many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Janice; children, Richard W. Ladeau Jr "Skip" and his wife Rita, Susan and Michael; brothers, Thomas Oja, Stuart Oja and Darrell Oja; sisters, Weynona Luhtjarv, Linda Dunchus and Sandra Clark; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great granddaughter, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Steven LaDeau; an infant daughter, Karen LaDeau; brothers, Lloyd Oja, Robert LaDeau and Leonard Oja and sisters, Starr Waters, Doneta Leslie and Vivian Prentice.

John L. Morris

JOHN L. MORRIS
May 30, 1945 ~ December 15, 2020 (Age 75)

WINCHENDON - John L. Morris, 75, of 42 Summer Street, died peacefully Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020 in Bay Sate Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born in Gardner on May 30, 1945, son of the late Lawrence E. “Ted” and Alice M. (Bourgault) Morris and was a 1963 graduate of Gardner High School. John later graduated from Fitchburg State College and earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Assumption College.

A teacher for many years, John began his teaching career at Narragansett Regional High School. He later taught in the Gardner School system for many years, teaching history, geography and social studies. He retired at the age of 58. John was involved with the Gardner High School Band for many years, while as a teacher and later in his retirement and made many trips with the band to Disney World. He also worked for many years as a bus tour guide for Perri Travel Co. in Ashburnham.

John served on the Board of Registrars for the Town of Winchendon for many years. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He and his late wife Kathy made many trips to Ireland and they enjoyed the company of their two dogs, Katie and Molly and spending time at their property in Bourne, MA.

His wife of 44 years, Kathleen A. (Brow) Morris, died in 2015. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Lawrence E. Morris Jr. and his wife Ann of Leominster, Marie A. Perreault and her husband Jack of Leominster, David J. Morris of Gardner and Alice A. Oravetz and her husband Christopher of Cary, NC; a brother-in-law Richard Brow of NH and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Masks and social distancing are required.

The Mass will be streamed and may be viewed on the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Facebook Page.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
