Barry P. Devanna

BARRY P. DEVANNA
July 31, 1943 ~ December 3, 2020 (Age 77)

Barry P. Devanna of Derry, NH passed away at the age of 77, on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Parkland Medical Center.

Born in Malden, MA on the 31st of July, 1943, he was the son of Edward F. Devanna Sr. and Emily M. Jensen. He attended Malden public schools and went on to work in the home building materials industry, before becoming a successful real estate investor and realtor. He served our country proudly as a distinguished sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving numerous medals for heroism, including a Purple Heart.

Barry was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Barry famously appreciated life's simple pleasures, taking nothing for granted. He was especially fond of his family and lived his life preferring to count his blessings.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemary (White); his father, Edward Devanna, Sr; his mother, Emily; his siblings, Edward, Ellenmay, Robert, Richard, and Nancy.

Barry is survived by his sister, Sandra Hoyle; his three daughters, Michele and John Downing of Derry, NH, Danielle and James Jacqueson of Winchendon, MA; and Deborah and Thomas Labossiere of Baldwin, MA; eight grandchildren, Patrick W., Michael, Jennifer, Christopher, Patrick B., Summer, Kaci, and Robert; one great-grandchild, Wesley; and many other loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom will remember him for his kind and generous acts.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4-7PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Harold J. Mulqueeney

HAROLD J. MULQUEENEY
December 1, 2020 (Age 78)

Harold Joseph Mulqueeney, 78, of Quincy passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

He was the father of Ruth Schramm of CO, Ann Saucier and her husband Jim of Winchendon, Michelle Mulqueeney-Urick and her husband Joseph of NH and Charlene Bradley of Northborough. Grandfather of John-Michael Mulqueeney, Seth and Ashley Signa, Catherine and Elizabeth Urick and Kylie, Jameson, Madelyn and Maclaren Bradley. Great-grandfather of Chrystofor. Brother of Mary MacDougal of FL and the late Dan and John "Jack" Mulqueeney. Harold is also survived by his nephews and nieces Dave, Carol and Cindy Mulqueeney, Mike, Mark, Dennis and Jack Jr. Mulqueeney and Greg and Nancy MacDougal.

He was a Vietnam veteran. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy, Wednesday, December 9, at 10 a.m. Family and friends invited. Burial to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Theresa M. (Guenette) LaFleur Bourque

THERESA M. (GUENETTE) LAFLEUR BOURQUE
December 29, 1927 ~ December 6, 2020 (Age 92)

Theresa M. (Guenette) LaFleur Bourque , 92, of Fitchburg, died Sunday evening, December 6, 2020 at Fitchburg Healthcare, Fitchburg.

Mrs. Bourque was born in Fitchburg, December 29, 1927, a daughter of Leon J. and Rosanna (Dauphinais) Guenette and resided much of her life in the city. She was a 1945 graduate of Fitchburg High School.

Prior to her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Bourque had worked in the bookkeeping department at the Internal Revenue Service in Fitchburg. Prior to that she had worked in a similar capacity at Maki Home Center, Lunenburg, Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise, Asher Pant Company in Fitchburg and the former Fort Devens in Ayer.

Mrs. Bourque had been active in the Fitchburg Historical Society. She attended St. Joseph's and St. Bernard's Churches in Fitchburg. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bourque was predeceased by her husbands, Robert S. LaFleur in April 1971 and Raymond R. Bourque in April 2011 and her son, Ronald R. LeFleur in 2017.

She leaves her daughter, Sharon L. Robidoux and her husband, Gary of Thornton, NH; three sons, Barry R. LaFleur and his wife Deborah, Brian W. LaFleur all of Fitchburg, Robert A LaFleur and his wife, Estelle of Bethlehem, NH; three stepsons, Robert E. Bourque and his wife, Jennifer of Winchendon, William J. Bourque and his wife, Maura of Arlington, VA, John E. Bourque and his wife, Mona of Leominster; two stepdaughters, Anne Marie Bianchin and her partner, Richard Peezee of Fitchburg, Elizabeth J. Wiesman and her husband, Richard of Sterling; a brother, Raymond Guenette of Tucson, AZ and twenty grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Robert Guenette of Vermont and Leon J. Guenette of Leominster.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.

Brenda J. Bourgeois

BRENDA J. BOURGEOIS
September 19, 1956 ~ December 4, 2020 (Age 64)

GARDNER - Brenda J. (Blakley) Bourgeois, 64, of 43 Dyer Street, died Friday evening, December 4, 2020 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston.

She was born in South Gardner on September 19, 1956, daughter of Marcia E. (Blakley) Stillings and the late Robert R. Blakley. She met her husband and soul mate, Steven Bourgeois in 1978. They were married on June 21, 1980 at Chestnut Street United Methodist Church in Gardner, and just celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Brenda lived in Gardner her entire life and was a cancer survivor in 2000, having received a stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma. Most recently, she battled MDS cancer and had a second bone marrow transplant January, 2020. She fought both battles with a positive attitude and smile on her face.

In addition to her husband and mother, Brenda leaves two children, Lucas J. Bourgeois and his partner Jeremy Knox of South Tampa, FL and Lynsie Adams and her husband Neil of Waltham, MA; a grandson, Blake Emory Adams "her pride and joy"; a brother, Gary Blakley of Ashburnham; mother-in-law Helen Monette of East Templeton, sisters–in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Steve Baronoski of Phillipston, and Terri and Tom Carrier of Winchendon; her stepfather, Carlton Stillings; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Shawn, Shawn, Craig, Brandi, Alex, Shane, and Ryan. She also leaves close family friends, Richard and Saundra Amistadi, Dane and Brittany Wilson and Tom and Marissa Garrity and their children, whom she considered to be her grandchildren. Many of Brenda's friends fondly called her "B".

Brenda was a 1974 graduate of Gardner High School and a graduate of Mt. Wachusett Community College with degrees in Fine Art, Business and Graphic Design. She was employed at Simplex Time Recorder Co. from 1978-1995 and Mt. Wachusett Community College in the Assessment Center for 22 years until her retirement.

Brenda volunteered and bartended at Otter River Sportsmens Club for many years where her husband was a member. She rode motorcycles, loved classic car rides, enjoyed shopping for antiques, was very artistic, crafty, and played the ukulele. She also loved working in her yard, spending time with family and friends, and sipping her favorite cocktail in the pine grove. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and would light up a room with radiant energy and smile. Her favorite places were Westport Island, Maine with her best friend Saundra, and anywhere there was a margarita with Linda Baronoski.

William R. Richards

WILLIAM R. RICHARDS
November 22, 2020 (Age 78)

William R. Richards, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Winchendon, Mass., passed away on Nov. 22, 2020. He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., to the parents Frances and Edgar Richards.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Day Richards, two daughters, Dr. Christine Richards of East Bridgewater, Mass., and Michelle Carbone of Leominster, Mass., a brother, Edward, of Fitchburg, Mass., a sister Marcia of Kissimmee, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

Bill worked for 37 years at C&W Fabricators of Gardner, Mass., and traveled in and out of the country. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved Nascar Racing. He was also an incredible wood worker, designing and building Kitchens for family and friends in Massachusetts, and in Florida. He was a giving, loving, caring man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rosalie Ann Anderson

ROSALIE ANN ANDERSON
February 10, 1958 ~ December 7, 2020 (Age 62)

FITZWILLIAM, NH - Rosalie Ann (Webster) Anderson, 62, of Fitzwilliam, died peacefully Monday, December 7, 2020 in Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, NH.

She was born in Winchendon, MA on February 10, 1958, daughter of the late Floyd Waldo and Olive Lucille (Duplease) Webster.

She is survived by three children, Garth, Bridgette, and Gwendolyn Thompson; her brother Ron, who resides in Kalispell, Montana and her sister, Janice (Webster) Fratoni of Winchendon. Rosalie was married to Karl H. Anderson Jr. (a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran) and resided with him on Laurel Lake in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire until his passing on August 29, 2016. While together, they enjoyed boating and inviting friends and family to their many cookouts. Rosalie was a long time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2158 in Winchendon and enjoyed gardening, working with stained glass pictures in her spare time and socializing with her many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 12 Noon in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the service Friday from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon. Masks and social distancing are required. Funeral services will be streamed and may be viewed on the funeral home website.

Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

John G. Barden

JOHN G. BARDEN
May 9, 1940 ~ December 8, 2020 (Age 80)

TEMPLETON - John G. "Jake" Barden, 80, of 107 Elm Street, Baldwinville died unexpectedly at home Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

He was born in Gardner on May 9, 1940, son of the late John and Delma (Couillard) Barden and was a 1959 graduate of Narragansett Regional High School. Following his graduation, Jake proudly served in the United States Army for four years.

Jake was the first mechanic in the Town of Templeton. He was employed by the Town of Templeton for 21 years as a mechanic and also worked 15 years for Huhtala Oil Co. He was a member of American Legion Post #373 of Baldwinville, Gardner Fish and Gun Club, Polish American Citizens Club (PACC) of Gardner and was a longtime member of Otter River Sportsmen's Club. Jake enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed working on his old cars and attending car shows.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle man, who was widely loved and respected.

His wife, Elaine (Priest) Barden, died in 2000. He leaves four children, Marion Strait and her husband Ed of Templeton, John B. Barden of Gardner, Scott Barden of Winchendon and Tracy Barden Delvalle and her husband Roberto of Gardner; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Charlie Staples in 1987.

Carol J. Richards

CAROL J. RICHARDS
March 11, 1942 ~ December 5, 2020 (Age 78)

WINCHENDON - Carol J. (Marquis) Richards, 78, of 398 Front Street, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2020 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.

A lifelong resident of Winchendon, Carol was born on March 11, 1942, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Lambert) Marquis and was educated in Winchendon schools.

Carol worked for many years as an assembler at the former Ray Plastics until her retirement. She was a member of Lt Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 Ladies Auxiliary. Carol enjoyed reading and embroidery and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her husband of 56 years, Robert C. Richards, died in 2016. She leaves two children, Robert C. Richards Jr and his wife Robbin of Winchendon and Kaileen M. Nichols and her husband James of Templeton; a granddaughter, Amber Nichols; her sisters, Betty Martin of New York, Jeanette Roy of Winchendon and Phyllis Morris of Fitchburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Diotalevi and Shirley Cochran and brothers, Walter Marquis, William Marquis Jr and Alfred Marquis.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

Edward D. Bezio Sr.

EDWARD D. BEZIO SR.
June 1, 1943 ~ December 4, 2020 (Age 77)

Edward D. Bezio Sr., 77, of Red Brook Lane, died on Friday evening, December 4, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Colrain on June 1, 1943, he was the son of Wilfred and Sophia (Bellows) Bezio and grew up in Colrain and graduated from Murdock High School in Winchendon in 1961.

On September 9, 1963, Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged on April 12, 1967.

In 1977, Ed married Janice M. (Wheeler)and they have enjoyed 43 years of marriage and raising their family.

Employed in the shipping and receiving department at the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol for 10 years before retiring, Ed previously worked for Harrington-Richardson in Gardner, Millworks of New England as well as 21 years at the former Leavitt Machine Company.

Ed was an active member of Orange American Legion Post 172 and was instrumental in overseeing the American flags being put up in downtown Orange. He served as Department Surgeon for the American Legion of Massachusetts as well.

Ed enjoyed sports, fishing and stock car racing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Bezio of Orange; children, Daniel E. Bezio of Maine, Joseph F. Paul (Colleen) of Warwick, Christopher R. Bezio of Maine, Edward Bezio Jr. of Erving and Angela Sinclair (Jesse) of Greenfield; grandchildren, Adrian Paul, Rose Bezio, Amber Bezio, Camden Sinclair, Sofia Sinclair, and Ryan Bezio.

Ed is also survived by his siblings, Katherine Lively of Colrain, and Edna St. John of Texas.

Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by siblings, Walter Bezio, Harry Bezio, Raymond Bezio, Margaret McKenny, Rosemary Matthews, Joseph Bezio, Theresa Hoyt and Lucy Anderson.

A funeral service and interment with military honors will be held on December 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.

David A. Miller

DAVID A. MILLER
July 17, 1946 ~ December 2, 2020 (Age 74)

WINCHENDON - David A. Miller, 74, of Winchendon died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Heywood Hospital after a long illness. Dave was born on July 17, 1946.

Dave was a member of the United States Air Force. After college, Dave worked many years as a computer specialist in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Dave was an avid horse and cat lover. He spent many hours trail riding on his horses, sometimes taking a lunch out with him and, of course, treats for the horse. His animals never wanted for anything, they always came first. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Dave was a very generous man. He spent most holidays with Jim and Sandi MacPherson and their family, and the horses, at the farm in Troy, NH. Dave was happiest at the farm (Timber Trails) owned by Jim and Sandi.

Dave had very few relatives, one cousin and two nieces. He is survived by his horse Sandy, who will remain at the farm in Troy, and his two cats, Treasure and Tigger, who will be adopted.

There will be no services held until later. There will be a Memorial Service at Timber Trails, when Covid has settled down and people can get together safely. At that time, Dave will be remembered by all his friends, and his ashes will be spread around the farm.
