Anthony Kulvete

ANTHONY KULVETE
September 14, 1923 ~ July 13, 2020 (Age 96)

Anthony “Tony” Kulvete, 96, of Winchendon, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully, Monday, July 13, 2020, in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, after a brief illness.

Born in Gardner on September 14, 1923, he was the son of the late Michael and Julia (Sargant) Kulvete. Tony was a United States World War II Marine Corps Veteran serving from 1941 to 1944, in the Asiatic Pacific Area. While in the Marine Corps, Tony fought in defense of the Guadalcanal and in action at Cape Gloucester, until being honorably discharged. He was a laborer and assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner for several years until his retirement in 1989.

Tony was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was a member of the Lithuania Outing Club of Gardner. Tony had a green thumb and loved to be out in his garden, or out picking blueberries. He also enjoyed watching Westerns. But the time that Tony truly loved and cherished the most was time spent with his family.

Tony is survived by three sons, Steven A. Kulvete and his wife Sandra of Templeton, Alan J. Kulvete of Westford, and Peter M. Kulvete of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Brenda R. Kulvete of Salem, OR, and Ann P. Boudreau and her husband John of Athol; six grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Brian, Monica, Michelle, and Mary; nine great-grandchildren, Sam, Tyler, Brianna, Jack, Nora, Trinity, Christian, Evelyn, and Genesys; one great-great-grandchild, Micah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57-years Anita (Biron) Kulvete, who died in 2003, a daughter, Beverley A. Kulvete, who died in 1954; two brothers, Peter Kulvete and John Kulveitis; and a sister, Nellie Wisnouckas.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

A Calling Hour will be private.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, current restrictions set in place by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be in effect at Tony’s services.

Rosalie A. Roberts

ROSALIE A. ROBERTS
June 7, 1933 ~ July 19, 2020 (Age 87)

WINCHENDON – Rosalie A. (Charlonne) Roberts, 87, of 27 Monadnock Avenue, died peacefully Sunday morning, July 19, 2020 at the home of her son, Philip in Middleboro, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Jaffrey, NH on June 7, 1933, daughter of the late Rosario and Mary (Davis) Charlonne and was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life.

Rosalie worked many years ago in the operating room at the former Winchendon Hospital. She later worked at WW Cross Company in Jaffrey, NH and in later years provided private duty home care for families in this area. She enjoyed going to Maine, buying salt water taffy and viewing lighthouses along the Maine coast. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of family and friends. Rosalie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Her husband of 60 years, John C. Roberts, died in 2012. She leaves three children, Larry J. Roberts, Paula M. Bateman and her husband Maurice III of Winchendon and Philip J. Roberts and his wife Lisa of Middleboro; five grandchildren, Mindy Gagnon and her husband Chris, Jonathan Roberts and his wife Monika, Kathryn Roberts, Kristen Roberts and her fiance Michael and Megan Cunha; five great grandchildren, Kaylan, Krystal, Braydon, Ciaran and Raymond as well as nieces and nephews. She is also leaves two sisters, Janet Roberts and her husband Norman of Winchendon and Gloria Fredette and her husband Bob of Winchendon. A brother, Kenneth W. Charlonne, predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Kimberley Bartlett

KIMBERLEY D. (CASAVANT) BARTLETT
January 15, 1965 ~ July 16, 2020 (Age 55)

WINCHENDON – Kimberley D. (Casavant) Bartlett, 55, of Winchendon, died peacefully Thursday, July 16 2020 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Winchendon on January 15, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Nancy (Loomis) Casavant. She was a graduate of Murdock High School, class of 1983. For many years, Kim worked for her father’s drywall business, Toy Town Drywall & Building Co., as well as Winchendon Savings Bank. She later went on to work at Toy Town Elementary School for several years, which brought her great joy.

Kim was a member of the Winchendon Historical Society; she beamed with hometown pride. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and being a homemaker. But what she truly loved and cherished the most, was time spent with her family; her pride and joy. Kim will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, her warm and inviting smile, and her kind-hearted spirit that had touched many.

She leaves her two children; son, Kristopher P. Girard of Templeton; daughter, Paige D. (Girard) Lopez and her husband Calvin L. Lopez of Baldwinville, and her beloved grandsons, Julian & Vincent Lopez; one brother: Michael P. Casavant of Baldwinville; one sister: Kelly A. Casavant of Englewood, FL, and niece, Kristina R. Casavant and her fiancé, Michael B. Koshko of Northborough. She also leaves her partner, Jack Barber of Winchendon.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held in her loving memory at a later date.

Paul H. Hawkins Jr.

PAUL H. HAWKINS JR.
February 24, 1956 ~ July 21, 2020 (Age 64)

WINCHENDON – Paul H. Hawkins Jr., 64, of 5 Bemis Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, July 21, 2020 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Nashua, N.H. on February 24, 1956, son of the late Paul H. and Christine (Martel) Hawkins and grew up in Pepperell. He had lived in Winchendon since 1985.

Paul had worked as a blaster for several blasting companies and had most recently worked at Thomas and Drilling Co. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake house at Lake Watatic in Ashburnham.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Lynn (Rioux) Hawkins; two sons, Joshua S. Hawkins of Winchendon and Matthew P. Hawkins and his wife Meagan of Winchendon; three grandchildren, Charles, Claire and Cameron; a brother, Harvey Donaghy of Royalston as well as nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Harry Hawkins and Karl Donaghy, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2020 at 6 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Due to the covid pandemic, facemasks and social distancing are required.
