MARGARET M. "PEGGY" (BROWN) COLLYER

COLLYER, Margaret M. "Peggy" (Brown) Of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020. Beloved wife of the late James M. Collyer. Loving mother of Joan & her husband Earl McDonald of Braintree, Margaret Chappell of Holbrook, James & his wife Maryellen Collyer of Quincy, Michael & his wife Joanne Collyer of Rockland, Carol & her husband Michael Rowan of Everett, Elaine & her husband Kevin Monahan of Dorchester, Kathie & her husband Paul Shaughnessey of Dorchester, Barbara & her late husband Mark Lawrence of Winchendon, Stephen & his late wife Suzanne Collyer of Sharon, and Christopher & his wife Maryann Collyer of Wakefield. Cherished grandmother of 31 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and special niece Alicia Jones of West Roxbury. Dear sister of the late Flora Stanton.

ROBERT R. HINCKLEY
March 10, 1939 ~ June 5, 2020 (Age 81)

Robert 'Dick' R. Hinckley, 81, a long-time resident of Keene and formerly of Spofford died on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton. He passed peacefully while resting after a period of declining health.

Robert was born the son of the late, Gertrude (Paine) and Orin Hinckley on March 10, 1939 in Framingham, MA. he was educated in Marlborough, MA. and graduated from Marlborough High School class of 1958. Dick was a patriot and on September 23, 1965 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He served his time with distinction as a Machinist Mate (MM) stationed with the Seabees. Dick was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Fleet Marine Combat Operations Insignia and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of MM-1 E-6 on September 22, 1969.

On December 12, 1984 he exchanged vows with Elizabeth R. (White) They were married in a simple service at their home in Spofford with close family and friends in attendance. They have been married for thirty-five years.

Dick was employed by the Kingsbury Machine Co. in Keene as a machinist for twenty years before his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed working with his hands on wood projects and time was spent working in the yard. He enjoyed going on car trips, especially to the ocean. His life was surrounded by his children and the numerous foster children he brought into his home. Dick was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother and in time, grandfather and great grandfather.

Dick was also community spirited. He was an active member of the Keene American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.

Mr. Hinckley is survived by his wife, Elizabeth R. Hinckley of Keene. His children; Debra Stephenson and her husband, Glenn of Keenesburg, CO. David Hinckley and his wife, Jinsook of Fayetteville, GA. Dianne Lee and her husband, Vinal of Papillion, NE. and Dawn Hinckley of Cibalo, TX. His step-children, Arthur Desrosiers and his wife, Sharon of Hooksett, Donna Desrosiers of Hooksett, Elizabeth Desrosiers of Winchendon, MA. and Michele Desrosiers of Keene. His siblings; Carolyn Holland of Old Saybrook, CT. June Seagrane of Uxbridge, MA. Helen Gauthier of Tuscan, AZ. William Hinckley of Port St. Lucie, FL. Corrinne Blair of Berlin, MA. and Patricia Hinckley of Keene. In addition he leaves several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dick is pre-deceased by his sister, Ethel Scanderowski.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic there are no calling hours. Burial will take place privately with military honors at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscowen. Victor Ceccarini III

VICTOR CECCARINI III
1967 ~ 2020 (age 53)

Winchendon - Victor passed away peacefully at home after being stricken ill suddenly. He leaves his mother Linda A. Olson and her husband Russell of Ft. Myers, FL, his father Victor M. Ceccarini, Jr and his wife Donna of Worcester, MA, the love of his life, Dawn E. Bourassa of Winchendon, MA. He also leaves his brother, Stephen B. Ceccarini and his wife Kristen of Auburn, MA. 3 children, Kevin and his fiancé Krystina, Kayla and her fiancé Felix and Derek and 3 grandchildren, Gabriel, Leanna and Daniel, all of Worcester, MA. A half brother Christopher of Worcester, MA. Several aunts and cousins.

Victor grew up in Millbury before moving to Worcester. He worked at Graybar Electric for 15 years as a CSR and counter manager. Victor was a self taught guitar player. He played in a band called "Bottom Line" that played local bars in Worcester County for many years. Victor loved the Cape and spending time with family and friends. He had a "special spot" at the Cape that he loved to go to gather his thoughts and listen to the ocean. Victor loved the Boston Bruins, going fishing and his passion was music. He loved all kinds of music. One of his favorites was "American Pie", which he would sing with his father when he was younger and that memory he held dear to his heart and it would bring him joy. He loved all animals and the ones that he held special in his heart were Wilbur, Cassie, JD, JB, Daisy, Scooter and Cooper.

Victor had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others whenever he could. He had a special gift in talking to people and they were drawn to him because of his sincerity and willing to help.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Mary Girard

MARY GIRARD
June 30, 1943 ~ May 13, 2020 (age 79)

Mary Lynn (Poole) Girard, 79, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill, in East Longmeadow, surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family.

She was born in Winchendon on June 23, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Ernest A. Poole, Sr. who was Called Home on December 20, 1971 and Arline C. (Brown) Poole who was Called Home on January 14, 2015. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1957 and later received her Certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Roger L. Putnam Vocational School of Nursing in 1976. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Gentiva Pediatrics on Roosevelt Avenue in Springfield and retired in 2003 and previously was a Unit Secretary for over 20 years in the Pediatric Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Most of all, she was very proud to have worked at Healthdyne Healthcare as an LPN Outpatient Clinician where she cared for babies at risk with SIDS.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed watching Jeopardy every evening while snacking on her favorite, dark chocolate Kit Kats. Above all, she enjoyed spending time at gatherings with her beloved family and many friends. She was a longtime Confraternity of Christian Doctrine instructor at the former Our Lady of Hope Church, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and the former Saint Mary Church, now Mary, Mother of Hope Church where she was a communicant, all in Springfield.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard G. Girard who was Called Home on July 16, 1992. She leaves her two loving children, Joseph R. Girard and his partner, Brian, of Salem, NH and Brenda C. McMahon and her husband, William, of East Longmeadow; her loving son-in-law, Michael W. Caouette of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren, Robert Girard, Andrew Girard, Alexandria McMahon, Madison McMahon, and Tamara Colon and her husband, Jose; her six cherished great-grandchildren; her two dear brothers, Ernest A. Poole, Jr. of Springfield and David N. Poole of Winchester, NH; her dear sister, Eva A. Bellucci and her husband, David, of Springfield; her wonderful caregiver, Alice; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended members of the Girard and Poole families and numerous friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Daniel J. Girard who was Called Home on March 17, 1983; her beloved daughter, MaryBeth Caouette who was Called Home on June 23, 2019; her dear brother, Raymond L. Poole who was Called Home on November 17, 2006; her dear sister-in-law, Nancy Poole who was Called Home on March 14, 2010; and her dear nephew, David J. Poole who was Called Home on June 24, 2006.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. (Please limit your time with her family, face masks are required to enter the funeral home and funeral home capacity is limited to 40% per Massachusetts guidelines). Friends are invited to meet on her birthday, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, East Springfield, MA 01104 (Please meet directly at the church). Her burial will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. Richard Durand

RICHARD DURAND
November 5, 1957 ~ June 11, 2020 (age 62)

Richard Durand was born on November 5th, 1957 in Concord, Massachusetts. He was born in Ralph Waldo Emerson's house that was formerly used as the nurses bunk house before being converted into the maternity ward. The house still stands on the property today. He was the second son of Virginia Margaret (Subick) Durand and her husband Robert. He died at Lowell General hospital on June 11th, 2020 at the age of 62 after a lengthy battle with cancer and other complications.

Richard spent his early childhood in Acton, Massachusetts before his family moved to nearby Hudson where he was a part of the local Boy Scout troop and spent many afternoons with the local bikers. He made his Eagle at the age of 15 and after graduating from Hudson High School in 1975 he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Omaha, Nebraska working as a cook and for a short while volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader.

Richard met his wife, Linda, in 1987 and married her on April 11th, 1992 at the Ayer Federated Church down the street from their home. They recently celebrated 28 years of happy marriage together.

Richard was the Boy Scout leader of Troop 7 Shirley in the early 90's and Provisional Scoutmaster for Camp Wanocksett in 1992 before him and his wife welcomed their daughter, Margaret, into the world on April 23rd, 1995. He volunteered with Maggie's Girl Scout Troop in Winchendon, MA and later on in Shirley, MA. In 2009, he became Boy Scout Leader of Troop 2 Ayer and Assistant Crew Advisor in Shirley. In 2013, he served as Scoutmaster to Troop D220 for Nashua Valley Council in the National Jamboree alongside his daughter Maggie as the third assistant Scout Master. He also volunteered as assistant soccer and swim coach and never missed a ballet lesson or ski club.

He was also an elected official for the Town of Ayer on the Parks and Rec Department. He loved his town and he loved helping people wherever he could. He was a devoted public servant, husband, and father. He leaves behind many friends and family who will miss him every day. He touched the lives of countless people through his work with the Boy Scouts and other extra circulars. He was a friend to all.

Richard leaves behind his wife, Linda, and daughter, Maggie, of Ayer, MA, and his brother Bob and niece Ivy of Glenwood Springs, Co. He was predeceased by his mother in 2012. He also leaves behind his cousins in Maine and Maryland and his three uncles in Maryland, Massachusetts, and California. He also leaves behind many scouts, friends, and fellow volunteers.

Services for Richard will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to the Friends of Scouting for the Heart of New England Council and to local conservation.
