Douglas E. Knotts

DOUGLAS E. KNOTTS
August 21, 1921 ~ March 10, 2020 (Age 98)

Douglas E. Knotts, 98, of Centerville, MA, died on March 10, 2020. Born in Winchendon, MA on August 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Bertha (McGregor) Knotts. He shared 60 years of marriage with his late wife, Kathleen (Turner) Knotts.

Doug was a 1940 graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon, MA and a 1942 graduate of Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. He served four years in the United States Navy. His early career was spent in the ticketing office for the Boston Red Sox, and he later spent many years in banking, most notably as the Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer of Medway Savings Bank for 23 years until his retirement in 1987. Doug was a volunteer with the Medway Fire Department for 20 years and helped to start the Medway Ambulance. He was also a long time Mason.

Doug and his wife, Kay, retired to Cape Cod, where he enjoyed working many hours with his lawn and garden. They loved spending time at the beach, especially during their annual trips to their time share in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Doug enjoyed time spent with family and taking drives around the Hyannis area to take in the scenery.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Maureen Knotts of Centerville, MA; his son, Douglas Knotts Jr. and wife Brenda of Medway, MA; his granddaughter, Stephanie Knotts of Manchester, NH; his grandson Timothy Kaminske and his wife Althea and their son Calvin of Olean, NY. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his daughter, Jane Kaminske and her husband Barry, his sister, Sibyl Hayes, and his son-in-law, Eugene Zicuis.

Cynthia A. Blaney

CYNTHIA A. BLANEY
1948 ~ March 15, 2020

Cynthia Ann Blaney (Grillo) of Mooresville, NC and formerly of Marblehead, MA passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Cynthia had many loves in life that included her family, love of cooking, wine, candy making, and crafting; just to name a few. She was graduate of Marblehead High School, class of 1966. She was very strong in her faith and completed her Master Teaching Certificate in Catholic Christian Doctrine.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen M. Grillo (Chartrand), both of Marblehead, MA as well as many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 52 years, Robert J. Blaney of Mooresville, NC; her children Andrea M. Ulutas and husband Christopher of Haverhill MA., Christine A. Bradley and her husband Michael of Mooresville, NC; Meredith J. Hamel and her husband Gary of Winchendon, MA. and her grandchildren: Abigail Bradley, Rose Hamel, Madison Bradley, and James Hamel.

Lorna L. Fields

LORNA L. FIELDS
January 18, 1943 ~ March 15, 2020 (Age 77)

ASHBURNHAM – Lorna L. (Therriault) Fields, 77, of 37 Jewell Hill Road, died peacefully Sunday evening, March 15, 2020 at home, with her family at her side.

She was born in Fitchburg on January 18, 1943, daughter of the late Raymond and Muriel (Smith) Therriault and grew up in Lunenburg. Lorna was a 1961 graduate of Lunenburg High School. She had been a resident of Ashburnham since 1972.

Lorna worked as a nurse’s aide for many years in the Pediatric Unit at the former Burbank Hospital. Her favorite things in life were spending time with her family, enjoying family holidays and spending time at the beach. On a cruise with her dear husband John, she once swam with the dolphins and also swam with manatees on the Florida Keyes. She was very devoted to those in need and would reach out to her homebound friends. Through the years, she made thousands of palm crosses for residents at Highlands Nursing Home and for others. Very community minded, she was a member of Ashburnham Council on Aging and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her earlier years, Lorna was a girl scout leader and volunteer at Christmas for the Salvation Army. Lorna was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, John A. Fields; children, Dana A. Fields and his wife Patricia of Ashburnham, Sherri L. Mowrey and her husband Robin “Bunzy”, Tara Boston and her husband William of Winchendon and the late Rebekah Lynn Fields; her grandchildren, Dana J. Fields, Farah Fields, Orrin T. Fields, Riana S. Fields, Carissa Raposa, Nikolas Mowrey, Allisyn Mowrey, Brittany M Breau, Maddy Boston and the late Jocelyn Boston; sisters, Suzie Taguchi and her husband Ken of Kingston, Ontario, Canada and Cynthia Goodwin and her late husband Danny of Leominster; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.

A Celebration of Life with a time and date will be announced at a later time.

Joyce A. Gagne Warren

JOYCE A. GAGNE WARREN
February 14, 1938 ~ March 18, 2020 (Age 82)

WINCHENDON – Joyce A. (Williams) Gagne Warren, 82, of 7 Crescent Road, died peacefully at home Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 2020 with her family at her side.

She was born in Oakland, Maine on February 14, 1938, daughter of the late John and Barbara (Heath) Williams and had been a resident of Winchendon since 1978.

Joyce was a member of Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God, and had worked as a home health care worker at Monadnock Christian Nursing Home and other area nursing homes and had worked also at State Line Auctions.

She leaves her husband, Alfred E. Warren; seven children, Leonel G. Gagne Jr and his wife Debbie of Leominster, Darryl R. Gagne and his wife Nancy of Holden, Gerald J. Gagne and his wife Cheri of Winchendon, Randall L. Gagne and his wife Tobey of Rindge, NH; Barbara A. Bruno and her husband William of Lake Grove Village, NY, Joni E. Brockelbank and her husband Douglas of Rock Hill, SC and Christine M. Piermarini of Leominster; a brother in law Bernard R. Gagne of Fairfield, ME; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her first husband Leonel G. Gagne, died in 1995. A son-in-law, Ally Piermarini, also preceded her in death.

Private funeral services will be held in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.

Bonnie Ann Adams

BONNIE ANN ADAMS
June 30, 1957 ~ March 14, 2020 (Age 62)

Bonnie Ann Adams, 62 of Athol, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2020 in Leominster Hospital.

Bonnie was born on June 30, 1957 in Athol to the late John Adams and the late Miriam (Troope) Adams. She graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1975. She attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

Bonnie worked for MBW incorporated in Orange for 27 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, gardening, flowers, the beach and was an avid animal lover.

She leaves one son: Joel Cameron of Athol; one daughter: Sonya Szoc of Templeton; three grandchildren: Bailey Szoc, Felicity Cameron, Pearl Ruiz; two brothers: David Adams of Athol, Bob Adams of Orange; niece: Julie Tenney of Winchendon; one nephew: Nick Adams of Shutesbury.

Michele S. Renaud

MICHELE S. RENAUD
April 3, 1969 ~ March 17, 2020 (Age 50)

WINCHENDON – Michele S. Renaud, 50, of 563 Central Street, died peacefully Tuesday morning, March 17, 2020 in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.

She was born in Fitchburg on April 3, 1969, daughter of Denis W. and Susan (Yapchian) Renaud of Winchendon and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and Mt. Wachusett Community College. She was one class short of graduating from Southern New Hampshire University. Michele lived most of her life in Fitchburg and Winchendon.

Michele had worked as a laboratory technician at Tufts Veterinary Clinic in Groton and had most recently worked in sales marketing for Patterson Veterinary Supplies for 15 years. She was a Jeep enthusiast and attended many gathering with fellow Jeep enthusiasts. A cancer survivor for 33 years, Michele was a regular participant in the Relay for Life in Gardner. Her hobbies were working with crafts, painting rocks and shells, going the beach and spending time with her family and her late dog Kia.

In addition to her parents, she leaves two children, Alia LeBlanc and Jayke LeBlanc of Winchendon; a brother, Craig Renaud and his wife Amanda of Leominster and her grandmother, Josephine Yapchian of Leominster.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced by Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
