JUSTIN R. LAMBERT
December 5, 1988 ~ February 14, 2020 (Age 31)

WINCHENDON – Justin R. Lambert, 31, of 13 Maynard Street, died Friday, February 14, 2020.

He was born in Nashua, NH on December 5, 1988, son of Paula A.M. (Sawtelle) Lambert of Winchendon and the late Leo C. Lambert. Justin grew up in Nashua and Lowell and had lived for the last 20 years in Winchendon.

A brick mason by trade, Justin worked for A.J. Jandris and Sons in Gardner. He enjoyed working on cars, going to the beach, cookouts and making cookies with his children.

In addition to his mother, he leaves a brother, Leo Lambert and his wife Melissa of Winchendon; two sisters, Crystal Rose Rathier and her husband Michael of Palmer and Michelle Ball of Westminster; two children, Averielle K. Lambert and Keynah N. Lambert and their mother Marlene Knutila; grandparents, Edith Wolfe of Lowell and Benoit and Dorothy Lambert of Quebec, Canada.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 3 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jay Lillie will officiate.

Calling hours will precede the service Saturday from 1 to 3 P.M.

MARY E. OUELLET
February 23, 2020 (Age 74)

It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Mary E. Ouellet, 74, of Winchendon, MA and formerly of Newport Center, VT. Mary passed away in her sleep peacefully after a long battle with illnesses on February 23, 2020.

She is predeceased by her late husband John Luc Ouellet Sr., and her son John Luc Ouellet Jr. She is survived by her children Tammy Chipman of Belding, MI, Renee Grimes of Winchendon, MA, Gene Ouellet Sr. of Derby, VT and Jolyne Ouellet of CT. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved family dinners and get togethers. Making lasting memories for her whole family was her goal. She liked phone calls and visits from her friends and family. She listened to music and loved to dance. Spending time with her grandchildren always put a smile on her face. She was caring, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Aunt to all of her family. Mary will be dearly missed and forever loved.

She also enjoyed preaching to her family and friends about Jehovah God and his promise for mankind. She was a firm believer in her faith.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Mary at 12 noon on Saturday February 29, 2020 at Renee's home in MA. Family and friends are welcome to attend, please contact Renee for further details. A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, VT at a later date.

DONNA M. BISSON
May 17, 1950 ~ February 17, 2020 (Age 69)

FITCHBURG - Donna Marie Bisson, 69, lifelong resident of Fitchburg, died Monday February 17, at Marlborough Hospital after a long illness. Donna was born in Ayer, May 17, 1950, daughter of Henry and Jean (Porter) Cormier. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High school. Donna was employed in various retail stores in the area. Donna loved to gamble, play dominos, do needlepoint and line dancing. Donna loved traveling to visit her family in Oklahoma and Idaho.

Donna leaves her husband of 51 years William J. Bisson. They were married on July 12, 1968. Donna leaves her son and daughter-in-law Joseph W. Bisson and Jessica of Winchendon. Also her daughters Michelle A. Bisson of Tulsa, OK and Angela "Angie" L. Fleming and her herband Mike of Pocatello, ID. Nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period on Wednesday February 26, from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Burial will be at a later date in St. Anthony Cemetery in Shirley.

ANDREW J. BREWER
May 17, 1950 ~ February 17, 2020 (Age 69)

WINCHENDON – Andrew J. Brewer, 45, of 361 Benjamin Street, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.

He was born in Gardner, MA on October 13, 1974 and was a graduate of Monadnock High School in Swanzey, NH. He was a resident of Winchendon for many years and worked with his uncle at Jeff Brewer Construction, where he did plumbing, heating and carpentry.

Andy enjoyed four wheeling with his Jeep, attending flea markets, fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family.

He leaves his loving wife of twelve years, Nicole (Ritter) Brewer and their son Caleb B. Brewer of Winchendon. He also leaves his grown children, Andrew P. Brewer, Ashley K. Brewer and their mother Lillian Trombly; two step children, Caitlin N. Boyden of Somerville and Collin P. Boyden of Winchendon; his mother, Kyoko Brewer of Winchendon; his uncle Jeffrey Brewer of Winchendon; his father and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brewer of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Andy also leaves behind two nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Brewer Jr. and Brian P. Brewer.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1 to 3 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

HELEN G. PURCELL
October 13, 1974 ~ February 20, 2020 (Age 45)

WELLFLEET - Helen G. Purcell, a longtime resident of Wellfleet, died on Feb. 20, 2020 after a period of declining health. She had resided at the Manor on the Hill, an assisted-living facility in Leominster, since 2015.

Born in Leominster on June 22, 1919, she was a daughter of Gardner A. and Annie (McDonald) Gibson. She grew up in Lunenburg, graduating in 1936 from Lunenburg High School where she excelled in academics and participated in athletics and school theatricals. She earned her education degree from the State Teachers College at Fitchburg (now Fitchburg State University) in 1940 and a master's degree at Harvard University. She was working as a social studies teacher when she met her husband-to-be, fellow educator William D. Purcell. They married in 1943 in San Diego where Bill was serving as a naval officer.

After the war she taught in a several school districts in Massachusetts and other states. She retired from Lexington Public Schools in 1973.

In retirement she was a mainstay of the Wellfleet Historical Society and Museum, an avid gardener, and an enthusiastic advocate for the Cape Cod National Seashore. For many years she led walking tours focusing on Wellfleet history and was a key organizer of the Historical Society's annual house tours. As a curator at the Historical Museum, she helped organize the Society's collections and advocated for the recent expansion of the Society's Main Street quarters. A room in the renovated museum was designated as the Helen G. Purcell Room in recognition of her service.

The Purcells were inveterate travelers, enjoying long stays in France, England and Portugal, and at one point taking a round-the-world tour. For many years they maintained a winter home in Ocean Springs, Miss.

Helen leaves five nephews, Michael Gibson of Walnut, Calif.; Paul Gibson of Topock, Ariz.; Thomas J. Kane of Winchendon; Dennis A. Kane of Pepperell, and Peter J. Kane of Wellfleet; and six nieces, Kathleen A. French of Lunenburg; Joanne Huse of Fitchburg; Helen M. Kane-O'Connor of Groton; Patricia M. Cormier of Milford, Ohio; Margaret I. Oliver of Wellfleet, and MaryJo Lomax of Los Altos, Calif.; as well as cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces and great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother, Richard H. Gibson, and her sisters, Margaret R. Gibson and Mary G. Kane.

Her family is grateful to the staff at Manor on the Hill for the loving care and many kindnesses shown to Helen over the past five years.

An hour visitation will be held at 9 a.m. March 7 at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main St., Wellfleet. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Route 6, Wellfleet.

EDITH PRENTISS
March 22, 1931 ~ February 20, 2020 (Age 88)

Edith Prentiss, 88, recently residing at Applewood Rehabilitation Center of Winchester, NH died at Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, NH after a period of declining health.

She was born on March 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Ernest and Tyyne (Jarvis) Meattey.

Edith attended local schools and graduated from Keene High School in 1948.

She married George Prentiss in Fitzwilliam, NH and she resided there for many years raising her family. Edith worked for many years in various locations including Sprague and Carlton in Keene, NH, HofCo in Fitzwilliam, NH, Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH and retiring from the Keene Senior Center in Keene.

When she wasn’t working Edith enjoyed time spent planting flowers, feeding wild birds, sewing and knitting to name just a few. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Matthew and Brian. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Edith was a longtime proud member of the Jaffrey VFW Post 5613.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, George Prentiss, her sons, John Meattey and Michael Prentiss and her brother, David Meattey.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Christina and William Weston of Rindge, NH, her grandsons Matthew Alejandro of Peterborough, NH, and Brian Alejandro and his wife Elisha of Milford, NH, her brother, Ernest Meattey Jr. of Hinsdale, NH and her sister, Marjorie Caouette of Winchendon, MA, three great-grandchildren, Carter, Colby and Adriana, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: In accordance with Edith’s wishes there will be no calling hours held. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 6, 2020 in the Cournoyer Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Jadlocki officiating. Burial will be private for the family in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Fitzwilliam, NH in the spring.
