Complete five-course dinner with a tasting with each course of Berkshire Brewery beer & Root Cellar Wine. Menu: deep fried corn fritters with maple syrup, hearty Italian minestrone, harvest mixed greens salad, seasoned beef slow roasted over an open fire, baked stuffed potato, roasted butternut squash, and warm apple crisp. Entertainment provided by Acoustic Eric Love. Tickets $45 per person.

Scary Story Night for Kids Join me, my pretties! 6:00-8:00 p.m. Join the Winchendon History and Cultural Center for a Halloween-themed scary story night for kids! You're welcome to wear costumes and bring something comfortable to sit on, like blankets, sleeping bags, or camp chairs. We will gather around the "camp fire" (indoors, on the floor) for an evening of scary stories read to you by a real witch. Recommended for kids 10 and under. Admission is free (but we always welcome donations!).

SATURDAY OCTOBER 26

Beware and Be Scared 6:00-1:00 p.m. Join the Winchendon History and Cultural Center at both museums for a Halloween costume party and ghost hunt. Tickets are $69 per person. This is a great opportunity to soak up all the spooky Halloween atmosphere you can, while you head out with experienced paranormal investigators to see what you can find. You will explore both the Murdock Whitney and Isaac Morse houses. We provide equipment for you to use, or you're welcome to bring your own.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1

A Taste of Giving 13th Annual Tasting and Dance 7:00-11:30 p.m. To benefit programs and services at the Clark Memorial YMCA. Enjoy a night on the town, featuring music by Souled Out Showband, while sampling local beer, wine, cheese, appetizers and sweets. Tickets $25 per person. Sponsor a table for $300 per table. Holiday House Tour 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Please join the Winchendon History and Cultural Center for one of the favorite events of the holiday season. We have lined up a beautiful selection of homes and buildings this year. You are sure to enjoy it. Also, we will feature our newest acquisition: the Old Centre Church! On the lower level function hall of the church we will have holiday table settings for you to see and enjoy. This is always a fun day for us to showcase all the beautiful homes we have in town. Mark your calendars, this is the biggest house tour yet! Tickets are $20, and that gets you access to all the homes and buildings. Tour them at your own pace, and in any order you like.
